Did you know there is so much potential for how to use Facebook group membership questions strategically? You have the option to choose questions people answer before they join your group. But are you using those questions in a way that supports your business?
In this blog, we’re chatting about how to optimize your Facebook group membership questions. These tips will help you get the best information possible from your new members AND build your email list at the same time. Win-win!
You only get 3 questions which can be the tricky part of your Facebook group membership questions.
I always recommend the first question be about the outcomes they want to achieve, the second question focuses on why that is difficult, and the third question is about access to the freebie for the email list.
With only 3 questions, should you ask multiple questions in one question slot to gather more info? Asking several questions at once causes overwhelm, resulting in just surface answers. Narrowing it to one question will help you get more specific market research answers.
Here is the thing, there are many other places to promote your business. The Facebook group description, pinned post, or cover photo are some examples.
Promoting your business is a GREAT, promo is all about strategy. Using your Facebook group membership questions to gather info is a much more useful strategy that can actually help you with the copy for your promo!
If your most important question is what they hope to get from the group, then ask that. But I challenge you: is that more important than learning about them as a person in terms of their needs, wishes, and wants?
I find the answers to “What do you hope to get from this group?” to be pretty predictable. Everyone is coming to a group for encouragement, community, and networking. Asking what they want from the group may not give you the same depth of info as asking market research questions.
Once people are in the group you can have conversations about what they want from the group. At least once a year ask what they want to see more and less of. Do a poll of what they like, what is not working, and how you can support them better in the group.
By focusing on three well-crafted questions, you can gather market research, identify members’ pain points, and build your email list—without using the questions for promotion.
And remember, if you’re ready to turn your group into a powerful tool for business growth you’re invited to join me in the Profitable Facebook Group Program.
